#1: The Beginning of Life After Missions

My wife and I know a lot of former missionaries.

This is partly because we were both in missions ourselves (we met on the field through Youth With A Mission in Australia back in 2008).  Many of our friends from that time have returned to their home countries, or gone on to new locations.  But even apart from the folks we knew abroad who have since gone on to other things, we’ve recently been able to count among our friends a large number of missionaries who have either elected to return to their passport countries, or have been forced by circumstances to return.

We’re fortunate now in that we have a pretty large network of people to share that part of our lives with, who understand the difficulties of returning to a place that hasn’t changed much when you have.  But it wasn’t always quite this way.
